The Stamp Man Workshop.

The other day, when I went to The Stamp Man for the Journaling group I took some DT samples to Jill for the shop

I used a layered stamping technique to make the background, which my crafting buddy Janet taught me then stamped the guitar and removed some of the colour inside the guitar.

Alan was messing about with his music on the computer and had binned some papers he was printing, amongst them I spotted this

Which soon became this

That's when it dawned on me that I'd better get serious so made this

Then realised that these are ok but what about the girls?

It's that Janets fault - she showed me how to do this background but it's so versatile, have a look at how she's used it here

Brill isn't it.

Anyway Mrs Stamp Man was so thrilled with them that she wants me to run a workshop for her on the 9th June so if you fancy a dabble do come play with me !  Can't wait.

Janet and I are running a few workshops over at The Stampman in the next few months so will post dates etc on the sidebar. A new (and scary) venture for us - What if no one wants to come spend a day playing at ours!

Still nothing ventured nothing gained so that's that, we went and did it! We would love to meet some of our virtual friends in the flesh so if you're wanting some time for yourself come join us, it'll be a laugh!

See you soon

One for the Boys!

Those amazingly talented girlies over at Dare you 2 Digi Stamp this week want us to make something for the boys. This is right up my street as there are hardly any women in our family, with three brothers, two sons, four nephews and only one niece the odds are really stacked against the women of the family!

It's my nephews birthday at the weekend and having taken him fishing with me and seeing how patient he was and how good with the rod I thought I'd make him a fishy card.

It's a tent card inked with TH then the background was sprayed with sunburst stains and stamped with the water weeds (crafty individuals fern) I then built up the scene using elements from Sheena Douglass's Coast create a scene.  The main feature (that wonderful trout) is one of Teri's Digi's which I resized and coloured with TH again.  I soooo enjoyed creating this card and think I'll do a few more like it.

It's not always easy making cards for men but the DT have some wonderful inspiration over at DU2DS. Come have a go at making something for the men in your life!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TUESDAY TAGGERS

That's right, Tuesday Taggers has been up and running and hopefully challenging you all for one whole year, and a fantastic year it has been.

Little did we know what talent we were going to attract when we first started the challenge blog.  We did originally intend for the challenge to be a tag challenge but soon discovered that there was so much we and you wanted to do that we decided to become a no holds barred kinda blog.

So here we are 12 months later still visiting and seeing such awesome entries.

We had to have a celebration didn't we? and to do that we thought we'd find a way to give everyone who enters this week a present and a piece of cake. Interested?  Pop over to Tuesday Taggers to find out more.

Here's a clue to get you going!

So they are the colours, our favourite flavour cake - Chocolate and Cream

And what better place to find chocolate and cream than

And now for the whole theme

Thats it - a chocolate and cream tag, a present and a piece of cake and a celebration for everyone who wants to join in the challenge this week.

Hang On There!

In our DT pack from The Craft Barn this time we were sent a smashin wooden door hanger which we were asked to alter. Having just discovered the joys of UTEE and meltpots I just had to have another go and do a UTEE embellished hanger for my craft room

Having painted the hanger with Adirondak Dabbers, I thought I'd use the PaperArtsy stamps: Clocks 5 and PaperArtsy stamps: Clocks 6 which I stamped onto the hanger with StazOn ink pad - stone grey. I melted the  Ultra thick embossing powders in the meltpot and stamped them with the clock stamps then brushed them with Cosmic Shimmer mica pigment shimmer spray: circus bright to bring out the stamping.

The other bits and pieces are made with Shrink art frosted A4 shrink plastic including those little cogs. Recognise the die?

You can see more great hangers over at The Craft Barn blog, amazingly different in style but all fabulous! Maybe see you over there.

Tuesday Taggers - Uncomfortable!!!!

Hi everyone

It's Tuesday Taggers day again and as usual I'm behind with my posting, still better late than never! The (not so) lovely Sally wanted us to create something which was outside our comfort zone this week, now I'm happy to have a go with most things but there is one type of card which really isn't me - yes you've guessed it I don't do Cute!

So Cute I had to do!

I used the one and only cute stamp I have which my lovely friend Georgina bought for me at the Harrogate show, and to make her a little different I thought I'd have a go at making her sepia coloured using TH Vintage photo and walnut stain.  She is of course a sugar nellie stamp and the background stamps are stampin up two stage stamps which were stamped in old paper and vintage photo.

Quite enjoyed making the card but I'm not going to admit to that!

Come on then! I've really worked outside my comfort zone so it's only fair that you have a go too and show us what you did at Tuesday Taggers. My teamies discomfort as produced some great inspiration so pop over and have a look. Lyn (our resident lovely lady goth) has gone pretty - that you must see!

A Little Thankyou!

Hi everyone

You may have noticed a few weeks ago I added this little gadget on the left which counts up the number of coments my followers have left. It did hit me at the time that you might not like this idea but I put it there for a very special reason.

The comments you make and the encouragement you all have given have brightened my life so very much that I wanted to say a little thankyou. It's just over 12 months since I started blogging and because of your kindness and generosity of heart, my world's become a much better place.

So never mind a little thankyou here's a massive

Thankyou

to all who take the time to leave a little love on my blog. I'd love to be able to thanks you all in person but I think I'd still be here next year so if your name is on the list of Top Visitors would you get in touch and leave me your address via the email address under the list as I would like to send you a litlle present as a thankyou for your kindness

Hoping to hear from you soon

DU2DS Anything Goes!

Now that leaves the possibilities open doesn't it. Unfortunately my wonderful memory let me down again and I completely failed to recognise the fact it was thursday so was REALLY last minute with this card. Still the theme gave me the freedom to do just anything with a digi so thats just what I did - produced the fastest card I've ever made!

After stamping the base card with Aspects of Design flower text I ripped up some paper I had already made with Starburst Stains, pulled out a digi of Christine's I had already coloured, over stamped that with a swirl stamp I made on imagepac months ago, set robot crop to cut me a scroll, routed through my butterfly box for the right coloured flutterby added some bits and bob's and hey presto!!.............

And if you think that's how it went .......well how deluded are you?

Frantic scrabbling, many curses, a bin full of rubbish and a desk that looks like a bombs hit it and then the final insult, I saw a card on the easel which I'd made as an invitation for the bridesmaids to come for a second dress fitting which would have just done the job

Oh well! That's the way it goes!

We had some fantastic entries last time on DU2DS, and there seems to be more and more amazing digi's to be had so plenty to have a go with, If you're looking for something new check out Christine's and Sandra's shops - some lovely new images just been added!

See Ya
