Just had two full days of crafting heaven! Monday in my own craft room during the day finishing a scrapbook page, monday night at Katy's card craft class and all day today at a crop at Janet's, lots of playing.
My youngest son, Liam, has Down's Syndrome (Liam calls it sitting down syndrome cos he's always on his bum!) and has recently become engaged to the love of his life, Felicity, of course there were great celebrations in the form of a 'Bond' theme party and this was one of the many photo's taken on the night. I started trying to make it a formal picture but it kept insisting on being grunged so here it is. It's usually a cause for celebration when sons or daughters become engaged but when your children have struggled to overcome disability, the occasion takes on a whole new perspective. We are so lucky that for many of us finding a partner and soul mate at some time in our lives is taken for granted but for Liam and many who have similar problems, it is necessary for them to prove that they can make informed choices before they can enter into a close relationship. It was a great night though filled with much love.
Last night Katy (Katy's Blogaroo) wanted to have a go at making the terraces card so that's what we did and everyone made such fantastic cards, in half the time it took me to complete mine. I think there may be postings soon on some of the blogs I'm following.
Today we met for our weekly crop at Janet's and I played around making some male orientated card. I love off beat colour combinations and these turned out reasonably well I think. Used card from Kanban and the stamp is a stamping up one, coloured with my precious prismacolors and sansodor.
I use the point of a cuticle stick with cotton wool finely wrapped around it to blend small areas, easier than paper stubs and all you have to do to change colour is throw away the cotton wool. Katy said I should put this on the blog so if anyone wants photo's of how to wrap the cotton, let me know.
Hope you all had as good a day as I did.Happy Crafting
x Michelle
