DU2DS Challenge Week 9

It was a sketch this week at DU2DS designed by our lovely Donna, and this one went together so quickly I'm going to try a few more sketches. The image and the background paper were a freebie I found a link on one of our entrants blogs Mel Stampz she has some brilliant tutorials for alsorts of little bits n stuff and uses her computer a lot in her crafting. She's well worh a looksee!

Thought I'd stick with the Male theme seeing as I'm the only woman in a family of men and I do like producing more earthy cards so this came into being. I printed Mels tree download onto leafy paper, printed the background paper on copy paper then inked it with distress ink, generated the sentiment on the computer, cut it out and inked it the hey presto there it was done!

I love the simplicity and the retro feel to the trees and think I am going to do a few more retro funky cards. I love seeing all the different ways of approaching the challenges on DU2DS and even more so when the challenge is a sketch, wonder what'll turn up with this one!

Back soon

This is really great, Michelle. I love your trees and those green are gorgeous. I'm going to have to try more blues and greens, having a daughter, the pinks win out in our house!
Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. I shall definitely get in touch soon.
