Pups and Parents Journaling Workshops

I'm not sure if I mentioned the workshops that Janet and I are running throughout the summer for young people and parents to have a go at art journalling, but we have had a wonderful time running a session a week with the most enthusiastic participants you can imaging. It's been a thrill to spend time with them and revel in their enjoyment.

Here's a taster of what we have been up to

We started off basing the art journalling exploration around the Alice in Wonderland theme so gave everyone an Alice digi and some text from the book  and got them creating the pages as we had been taught by the amazing Dyan from Art from the Heart.

The words were all words from the text and were pulled out of a hat!!! to determine the theme of the page

A painted background then the word stencilled with starburst stains set the scene for the page to develop

Don't know if you can see the journalling,it's filling the page but written in ink almost the same colour as the background. Click on the pic to enlarge.

The second week we asked everyone to bring in an image from a magazine and we created a background with inks and layered stamping and again little bits learned at Dyans workshops, with a doodled vine and fruit stamped on dictionary pages.

I kept the writing to a minimum this time as I stamped it with some mini alpha stamps along the vine.

We still have just a couple of places left on the remaining weeks if you fancy joining in on the exploration at the stampman, drop me a line and we'll give you the info.
Thanks to everyone who has joined us so far, you've created some amazing work!

x Michelle

These pages are fabulous Michelle. Journalling is not something I'v managed to find time for yet although I have started making a couple of books. Wish they'd make days 48 hours long ....... and it still wouldn't be enough to fit it all in, Lol!

Bet everyone's having a fab time at your classes.
