Tuesday Taggers - A decoration

Hi there you Crafty Creatures
Hope you've had a great start to the week, they seem to be coming round faster and faster don't they? Must be because I havn't got all my presents made yet!

Here's a pressy I have made though

The theme at Tuesday Taggers this week is A Decoration. Now given the season I bet most of your ideas turn to christmas decoration but I've done something a bit different.  It was my new daughter in law's birthday on sunday and I spent the weekend moving them into their new house, putting beds together, plumbing in washing machines and generally getting it ready for their first night in their new home.

I wanted to make something which was totally her, and these paper mache figures which were sent to me in my last DT pack from The Craft Barn, presented a perfect place to start.

Both she and liam love writing. Liam writes plays and stories while she sits and writes out all the names of people she has collected over the years. Their writing is so lovely especially Felicity's and there are reams of their written work all over their bedroom!

I snook in and pinched a few pages to cover these little people with and stuck them down in strips with PVA.
Then I painted them with cosmic shimmer sparkle paint and coloured them with adirondak cranberry and denim ink.

I finished Felicity off with a bouquet and tiara

And Liam off with a waistcoat.
Doesn't their handwriting make great background paper? If you notice on Liam's figure there are the words love and cherish across his legs as he was writing a play about he and his wife, so I put those words on the mount too.

This then is a little decoration for their new home

Hope you're taken with the idea and fancy joining us for the challenge this week.
x Michelle
