Havn't posted for a few days so I thought I'd show you one of the Christmas presents I made for my Bro' Neil. He is a lovely man and a minister in The Church Army so when I spied this in the oxfam shop, I knew just what I was going to do with it....
A good sand down, a base coat of gesso and a dauber or two later and this is how it turned out
Click on the pic for a closer look, there's a fair amount of detail in there.
Good sermon material don't you think?
He was thrilled with it and I was too. It never fails to surprise me when the ideas I have turn out well and I must say it was one of my favourite makes. A good £1.50's worth!
Hope you're all happy and healthy and enjoying the warmer (if wet) weather.
x Michelle

Thuis is stunning no wonder he was thrilled! But if you clocked up your time in planning, preparation, work and love i think it may be priceless x
I love what you've done with this. Lovely colours and subtle stamping. I also spend lots of time trawling through charity shops in search of things to alter! It's a question of seeing the possibilities in other peoples discards....
What a transformation - and I just know Neil will have been totally made up with it :)
Fantastic alteration, love the details, its truely unique. xx
Fishers of men couldn't be more apt for your brother. A terrific transformation, so love this. Annette x
Terrific gift! Love what you did with it.
What a lovely idea , It's really beautiful. No wonder he loved it. A beautiful transformation from someone else rubbish. They always say one mans rubbish is another mans treasure. Take care Hugs x ChrisB
What a brilliant project Michelle and so totally appropriate for your brother. I can certainly imagine how much he loved it. I recognise the stamps you used on the fishes!

Love it!I keep looking in charity shops but think I'm blind to possibilities, but I'll keep trying. Your choice of colours is fab, as well as the attention to details. Cheers Caz
