Wish you were Here - at TioT!

A great theme at Try it on Tuesday this week though I wonder whether it's appropriate for this time of year but as I've been paddling in the sea in the dark in South Shields tonight - maybe it is!

I really didn't feel like making a card or anything, having just driven back from my son's graduation after completing his drug and alcohol  rehab. I have been in a room full of people who might be considered the lowest in society and have been moved by the love and support they have shown for Richard.

I've always known that the most sensitive and caring of people develop addictive behaviors of many sorts (including crafting)  as a way of coping with a sometimes painful existence, but tonight I have been moved to tears not only because I have my boy back, but because the people I have been with tonight have been thrown into a life which very few of us would wish to survive and they are still there, fighting to improve themselves and helping each other along the way. It's so very humbling!

So this is my version of Wish You Were Here, Hope I've not been too heavy, I certainly don't feel it. Besides which, paddling in the sea, in the dark is such an uplifting experience!  lol!

Much Love
x Michelle

You've definitely not been too heavy Michelle. I actually found your post uplifting too (as I often do). How proud you must be of Richard. Please pass on my congratulations to him, that must have been a wonderful evening, warts and all. Bet your tootsies were a bit cold!

Love your little journal pages!

Beautiful Michelle! Congratulations to Richard so pleased you have your son back. I'm shuddering at the thought of you paddling though. xx

Beautiful pages, good to read the news about your son.
Now you brave girl, paddling in the North Sea in my part of the country, deserves a Medal as big as a frying pan. It can be freezing in summer, not to think how cold it must be now.

Hi Michelle, I'm so pleased that Richard has graduated, I feel that you're both very brave to have come through what is a very hard journey. Watching as the one's we love hurt themselves is agony. Your post is very positive and I wish you all the very best and warm toes again!!!
Your journal pages are fabulous:0) Gay xxx
