Roman Rule!

It's my Dad's birthday, I just can't wait for him to come round for his Dinner tonight, he's just gonna love his pressie! My lovely friend Glynis persuaded her husband to forget his shy reticence and creat this little treasure for Dads Birthday.

It's all of an inch high and Andy has to paint these little figures he makes with a magnifying glass. isn't it amazing! Dad has always bee n interested in the Roman Military so he's going to be thrilled with this little legionnaire.

To do it justice with the wrapping I decided to make it into an exploding box

The stamp is one sent for my Birthday by Sandy at The Craft Barn when I first started on their DT and is perfect for the outside of the box.

The stamp used on the inside of the box is one I have had since forever and only just used. Looks a bit like a Roman road don't you think? If that doesn't justify buying and hanging onto the odd stamp that takes your fancy I don't know what is!

Hope Dad likes it
Have a great Bank Holiday Everyone

Wow, what a fabulous work of art Michelle. Not only is the detailed figure amazing, but your box is too. The stamps are perfect for the Roman theme - you couldn't have found anything better than the "cobbles" stamp - bet you're chuffed you kept it!!
Happy Birthday to your Dad - I'm sure he will be delighted with his gift.

I hope your Dad had a lovely birthday Michelle and I'm sure he must have loved his pressie. What a fab gift and what an amazing little piece of art too! What a clever, talented man to create that little beauty and your box was the perfect way to present it too. The stamps you chose couldn't have been more apt.
