More Stuff

Still havn't managed to take photos in daylight, been gettin Liam ready for two weeks working away from home so that filled my waking hours (actually it was scratching the surface of a 3ft high pile of ironing which I have been ignoring in favour of crafting for the last few weeks) Anyway had a go taking photos with a daylight lamp tonight so let me know if you think the photos are any better!
Here's a scrapbook page I started on at the crop last week which I finished last night. The photo is of Liam when he was about 3 and my God daughter Amy who's a bit younger. I had made them both waistcoats for Christmas and they loved to get dressed up in them when they were together, Liam refused to wear his for the photo but put it back on when we had finished shooting!!

I used the motif I had embroidered on Amy's waistcoat as a theme for the page and still had the design so enlarged it to recreate it on the page. The stamps I bought myself for my birthday in march are the Prima build a swirl, slightly grungy and perfect for scrapbook pages (thanks Elizabeth for getting them in at Embsay). The mirror trim is from an Asian haberdashery stall on a local market and the alpha is cut on the robo crop, run through the xyron and felted with doodlebug crushed velvet. Quite pleased with the result even though it's very bling!

This card is made from the leftover bits of bazill and the image I stamped out to see if it was the right one to go on the page.

Didn't use it so cut it out and coloured it with Tim Holtz distress inks, grunged it up, stamped the image again onto orange paper and mounted them both onto the turquoise bazill.

I also made a curved lace edged card which I thought I might use before I discovered the mirror trim in my stash so sticking with the orange theme made this into another card by stamping and embossing a swirl and adding a poundland flower with a circle of leftover doodlebug flocked card and a gem. You cant see too well on here but also watermarked the orange with versamark.

Finally these two cuties I downloaded some while ago as colouring images for the kids and when I got my promarker was desperate to colour in so started on these. I know they were characters in a cartoon when my son was little but for the life of me can't remember who they are.

Help me out fellow crafters, someone out there must know who they are cos it's driving me mad not knowing.

Anyway If I havn't bored you to tears, you're made of strong stuff so I'll go and make myself a cuppa and see you all later. Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments and support, it's become a big part of my life. What did I need a blog for? ......... For smiles! x Michelle

Gorgeous as ever - the pics are good but it doesnt do that page any justice! I sat and watched you carefully "embroider" the card - so this LO prob took 8 hours in planning and putting together. Dedication thats for sure!

Fantastic creations Michelle. I love the cards, such wonderful techniques on all of them and the scrapbook page, well, it's stunning. Such cute photographs and the story of the waistcoat made me laugh. I love how you recreated the embroidery you did, it looks gorgeous. Your photograph using the daylight lamp looks wonderful, I think you've cracked it, I do the same thing if I have to photograph at night and place the lamp over the top of what I'm photographing, it seems to work a treat. Can't help with the names of the characters but I recognise them LOL! Hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks for all the inspiration here, not boring at all. Chris xxx
