Colour Create - Blue and White

Havn't entered Colour Create for a while and have missed the creative challenge, having caught up with some of the other challenges I love to enter this one had to be next. The colour create challenge this week was to use blue and white with an option of a Vintage finish which fits well with my mood of the moment so went for it!
Started off intending to use a plain white background but then thought it needed a bit of colour - inked it. Then thought it looked too new - stamped crackle background. Next thought was that the joins of the crackle needed softening - inked some more. Then realised I hadn't got a plain white background any more. Does this sound familiar or is it only me this happens to?

The image I coloured with prismacolors and sansodor and hit on a great technique, this may be new ground (or maybe not) When you colour and blend with sansodor it leaves an aura around the image which acts like a resist. When you then apply a water based dye ink (Tim Holtz) it resists the dye, where the sansodor is, leaving a sofly blended halo around the image.

So come on fellow crafters do I name this after myself and start blowing trumpets or are you sniggering up your sleeves thinking fancy not knowing that : )

Anyway back to reality, the shopping list:-

Stamps - Stampin up, Rubber Stampede
Colouring Medium - prismacolor and sansodor
Inks - Tim Holtz - Faded Jeans, Weathered Wood, Walnut Stain
Papers - Kanban

Just checked back on the Colour Create site to copy the link and realised there is also a prize up for grabs from Simon Says which also comes with free postage, wow can't be bad.
Have fun all

x Michelle

Love the card Michelle. Looks like a scene from Huckleberry Fin. Now there's a real blast from the past!
