My Dad's Birthday & maybe Christmas too!

Hi all
Took one look at the weather and decided it was a crafting day today which is just as well as it is my Dad's birthday, so made a card and gift wrap for the CD he wanted for his pressy. It's also my first day on weightwatchers so the timing was perfect!! not!

All dad wanted for his birthday dinner was beef stew and yorkshire pud so I dutifully set to and typed the recipe into the weight watchers web site to get the points, along with the chocolate cake I decided to make for him, so now I've had nearly all my points and have started thinking about chocolate again, so time to use some diversion tactics and start crafting.

First I'll show you my Dad's card

I made the paper using the same technique used on Tuesday Taggers tutorial here after first brayering Adirondak wildflower ink on copy paper. The main stamp, from crafty individuals was stamped on card which had been coloured with TH distress inks.

The oval embelishments are little wood chips I picked up from The craft range last time I was there, I've stained them with TH walnut stain and stamped them.

As Dad loves photography, has cycled all over Europe, and sees all but says nowt, I hope this is just the card for him!

Off to practice diversion therapy now and get stuck into making the winter wonderland card.
see ya L8er...........................

Back again!

Diversion complete I thought I'd post my Winter Wonderland entry for this week in the same post, save me messin around again! The challenge is 'By Candlelight' this week so I hope this fits the bill.

The Stamp is one I made last year using the Imagpac kit, which I've coloured with stampin up inks and highlighted with sakura clear glitter pen. The papers are K&Co Christmas Cheer. I thought I'd use up all the bits and make a matching gift tag. The poinsettia was perfect to complete the card and I think that was a freebie on Craft Stamper.

Michelle ... both these cards are amazing! I LOVE your dad's card. The colours are just beautiful and I so admire how you've created the 'vintage' look! It's a truly beautiful card.

Your Candle card .... now then .... :o) .... absolutely stunning! What a fabulous image! It reminds me of a stained glass window. Everything about this card is perfect. I love the papers and how you've used the mirri. The ribbon and poinsetta are just lovely .. and I adore the holly border around the candle ... that's just gorgeous!

Thank you so much for joining us again at Winter Wonderland!

Hi Michelle, I wanted to come and say Thank You to you for your lovely comments on my blog - really kind, but right back at you missus!! Phwoar, what an amazing blog you have here!! I don't know where to start - your Dad's card is totally fabulous and I love your Candle stamp - incredible!! I'm an Imagepac fiend as well, I love using this kit (pssst... we're going to be giving one away on Winter Wonderland soon ;o) ). Your candle card is fabulous and I spy an 'old friend' (not!!) on there - I did some of the "cover stamp" samples for CS when this came out - gave me a massive headache it did!! LOL!!! (Mine was the pennant NOEL banner, painted wine glass and pillow box - should I be admitting that! LOL!).

Anyway, it's Fab to see your blog and you've got yourself another fan here! Thanks for playing in Winter Wonderland this week!! :o) xx
