DU2DS Metal

Yep, thats  the challenge at DU2DS for this week - Metal and digi stamps, now how does that go together?  Yesterday it could have been with a jumbled mass of computer parts as it got thrown through the window!!  Be careful folks there are some very nasty trojan virus hitting unsuspecting bloggers. The main computer went down yesterday and it took about 11 hours to clear it, despite having 2 firewalls and today another 8 hours to sort this one. Computers - don't you just love em?

So folks I'm late with this one but it is definately metal and definately made from a digi stamp, one of Lily Boo's to be exact, but no idea where or when I got it.

I printed the pic off and marked it onto the metal through the paper then contoured the image. Just had to fold it over some mountboard and finish it off after being very clever and filling the back of the image with dreamweaver paste.  Not so clever though cos dreamweaver isn't solid enough to hold the form under any pressure so it wont last long!  I made a pad to put under it and held it all together with some big jump rings.  The colour was added with alcohol inks, and even though it wont survive long, I'll enjoy using it!

Hope this finds you free from any form of virus and ready to 'make with the metal' Go see what the rest of the DT have made this week, as always they are fabulous!

Wow Michelle... you really embraced the metal challenge. Beautiful... I love it. Such a shame that the paste wont hold more permanently.
So sorry to hear that you have had computer troubles... hope that's the last of it for you.
Enjoy your weekend!

Well, I guess you know since I'm GottheartArt you have created something that speaks to my very soul. This is gorgeous. So sorry about the computer problems, hope you're all fixed up now.I've been playing around with some metal lately too. I've heard plan spackle works, because it dries hard, but haven't tried it yet.

Spectacular metal work Michelle and love the little fairy charm. Don't get me started on computers! Had trouble with this one for months, but thankfully all now sorted.

Hi Michelle

What a nightmare you've been having. Computers are a real pain when they go wrong aren't they.
I love your metal work. It looks fantastic coloured with the inks. I wouldn't have known where to start but you've risen to the challenge brilliantly as always.
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine.

Absolutely love this Michelle - what a brilliant idea to transfer the image onto metal - it is so effective. Love the colours of the inks, and the result is very "Arts and Crafts".
Hope your computer is now fully cured.

Brave to use metal Michelle, but it has really paid off, you've done such a fab job.
I'm off to do a back up on my computer!

Beautiful work of art Michelle, it's lovely! I think quick drying polyfiller or glossy accents works if you have the patience to let it dry.

Sorry to hear about your computer, it must have been a nightmare.
