Hitchcock at The Craft Barn!!

What's the most scary film you've ever seen?
Poltergeist, Alien, Psycho???

The first scary film I ever saw, and the most terrifying was Alfred Hitchcocks, The Birds. I sat glued to the TV unable to stop watching but terrified. I think perhaps because Hitchcock is a master at making the everyday disturbingly strange.

It was with this in mind that I started the project for The Craft Barn Wishing Well

"I would also love to see some examples of the different embossing pastes,
especially black, with stencils as I am stuck in a creative rut!"

So without hesitation, here's a little peek at what I made

Does it grab the feeling do you think?

Having started playing with Dreamweaver pastes I couldn't stop experimenting to see how I could use it in different ways

This one I particularly enjoyed.  I love the way the dreamweaver paste has taken the colour of the TH distress inks, Looks like crazed porcelaine.   There's a tutorial on The Craft Barn Blog followed throughoout the week with more amazing samples and tutorials from the rest of the DT, so if, like Anne, you're at a loss as to how to use your dreamweaver pastes, there's a mine of inspiration to be had at a click of a mouse!

Hope you enjoy the ideas

x Michelle

Oh yes those pastes really do soak up the inks while there is still moisture in the inks. Great work.

Like you The Birds was the one that scared me the most and the one that comes to mind at odd moments now LOL XOXO Zoe

Absolutely WOW! projects Michelle. I love everyone of them but especially like the crackled dressmaker's form.

Thanks for such fabulous inspiration.

PS I know exactly what you mean about The Birds and all Hitchcock's films if it comes to that.

Brilliant projects Michelle. Got to agree with you that The Birds is really terrifying. I studied Hitchcock at uni so had to watch most of his films of course - the course was appropriately entitled 'Thrilling Audiences':) Despite that I particularly like the row of birds stamp in the 'fears & dreams' hanging. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #79

OMG I remember that movie. It had me horrified for a long time and still not too crazy about birds. Love your samples especially the sewing/crackle one. Great texture. thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day. Angela
